Nomenclature Deception or Nomenclature Fraud is a modus operandi of the deceiver through which the deceiver present themselves to their target people, as if belonging from the community the target person considers friendly or has a preference to. It is a generic case of stolen identity of a community.
This modus operandi has rampant use in scams, political and communal propaganda, crime and commercial sectors.
The method seeks to exploit the trust factor and positive image of the community whose generic identity they steal.

Another classic case of Nomenclature Con is Haaretz newspaper based in Israel. While Haaretz literally means 'The Land of Israel', which would convey an insinuation about the nature of the newspaper as nationalist, the newspaper has been rampantly anti-Israel and blindly pro-Palestinian in nature. Due to its seditiously biased coverage during Operation Iron Swords, the government funding through grants and advertisement was withdrawn through a resolution passed by the Knesset, the Israeli parliament.
