A veteran actor and his father were hurrying and shoving the most valuable things they could grab, into their vehicle. It was their last chance to save their lives and escape death- if they could. The phone call they received from a senior Gov security official has given them a very short deadline just like the PM herself.

Veteran Bangladeshi actor Shanto Khan and his father Selim Khan was warned untimely about the imminent political violence due to the unexpected fall of the Haseena Gov.

Shanto Khan's family is the historical follower of Awami League, the party that ruled government few hours ago. Both he and his father were Awami League leaders.

In fact Shanto Khan was already on Jamaati hitlist for portraying the role of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman in his movie 'Tungiparar Miya Bhai'.

The Islamist mob took no time to reach the house of the Awami League leader. By the time the mob had reached his house, the father-son duo had already left. The gang plundered the house.

They informed other chunks of the organized and coordinated mob about the escape. Their vehicle was known to opponents and some police officers allied to the mobs, tracked down the car at Balia Union Parishad's Forkkabad area.

Shanto Khan fired several shots in air and surroundings to deter and disperse the mob and successfully escaped from there. Meanwhile he ran out of bullets.

Nevertheless they could not flee far from an already tracking coordinated mob. They were again blocked by another set of mob at Bagara Bazar area where they did not have any resources of self defense.

They father-son duo was taken out of the car which was robbed off the valuables they were carrying. The two victims were then thrashed with kicks and sticks, slashed with blades and knives, dragged on the road to skin them alive, then mutilated them off their fingers before burning them alive.

The news of his brutal murder reached India a day later as Bangladeshi media published it. They brutality was enough to jolt the conscience of some Kolkata film industry members upto some safe extent where they mourned and condemned his death but conveniently and strategically maintained their cold silence on the communal atrocities on the uninvolved minority Hindus of Bangladesh.
