A reputed actor's confidante, his dealing hand in sandalwood film industry, his professional representative who handled all his affairs suddenly goes missing one fine day.
Mallikarjun B Sankanagoudar was the manager of the Renukaswamy murder accused Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and has been allegedly missing since 2018.
Mallikarjun reportedly used to handle Darshan's every affair ranging from film distribution to managing his film schedules, call sheets, remuneration and other undisclosed affairs. He is reported to have taken money roughly amounting to 10 Crore INR from various people of Sandalwood film industry allegedly in the name of Darshan, including 1 Crore from actor Arjun Sarja for distribution of a film directed by Sarja.
On not returning the loan amount, Arjun filed a lawsuit following which the court summoned Mallikarjun. His non-appearance then led to an absconder notice. He has allegedly been missing since that time- the year 2018.
Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is an accused in the third degree murder of his fan, was a holistic film personality serving as actor, director, producer and even distributor.
After 7 years Mallikarjun's forgotten disappearance has surfaced again in the light of the death of another of his manager in April 2018 which in turn resurfaced due to the Renukaswamy murder case.
Mallikarjun's disappearance has made him permanently responsible for the missing money and cleared Darshan's name.
The police as usual had not dived deeper in these cases. But now in the light of emergence of Darshan's reported serial criminality, circumstances surrounding Mallikarjun's disappearance appears questionable. His disappearance has helped Darshan in a unique way if one questions the narrative being peddled.
Distribution deals are not done between owner and staff of opposite party but by opposite owners through their staffs. So Mallikarjun having 10 Crore on himself and not Darshan is quiet fishy. The 10 Crore that wasn't spent on film distribution, was spent on something else.
The police didn't find out where these 10 Crore go, and a family man Mallikarjun didn't spend an iota of the same on his family and reported vanished into thin air.
His disappearance makes him permanent accused of the theft of this money and keeps Darshan at bay. Darshan himself accused Mallikarjun of taking a loan of 1 Crore for him for which he too filed a complaint which makes him a complainant and Mallikarjun a serial and absolute suspect or perpetrator.
Mallikarjun didn't contact his family ever, never made an attempt to extract them, never helped them financially ever despite being a family man. At this modern age of policing and criminal tracking network if he is yet to be located, possibly Mallikarjun is not coming back again and possibly he is not absconding at all.
All these situations demand a renewed investigation with a renewed angle- in the light of Renukaswamy Murder Case and Sridhar Death Case.
