Ravens who are regular hunt of eagles, often dare to enter the nest of eagles when they are away and kill their defenseless babies. Firstly because these would grow up to be eagles hunting other ravens.

Mohammed Faizan was no raven, his idea for attacking the families of the security forces in their absence was to hit them where it hurts the most, to kill their children, women and elderly.

To kill the family members of enemy force in their absence or when they are old and weak is a common Islamist modus operandi.

Same tactic was also planned by Lashkar-e-Taiba convert terrorist Mohammed Daood Sayed Gilani born as David Coleman Headley when he planned to kill the retired army officers at their homes and conducted recce for the attack.

Mohammed Faizan, a 34 years old resident of Muslim ghetto named Kanhar Mohalla of the Saluja Colony area in the communally sensitive town of Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh; was extensively planning the Eagle Nest Attack.

The intelligence network active within the state of MP, that went through a series of revamps since Narottam Mishra had become the Home Minister in the last administrative term and Mohan Yadav became the Chief Minister in the current term; ran an extensive surveillance of the terrorist and extremist networks in the state.

The surveillance on Faizan's activities revealed that he was spreading the ideologies of Indian Mujahideen, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Islamic States through social media. His communications revealed that he was in the process of acquiring heavy cache of arms and ammunition from illegal arms dealers.

In any surveillance operation the raids are made when the attacker is in the last step before the move. The intelligence became aware that he has already obtained part of cache. The ATS raided the residence of Faizan in Kanhar Mohalla.

His digital devices were seized to send to FSL for forensic tests and collection of evidence. A pistol and five live cartridges were recovered from his possession.

The ATS obtained a bulk of membership forms of the Student Islamic Movement of India.

Recovery of the extensive bulk of jihadist literature, videos, photographs of terrorists sourced from Islamic propaganda units, lectures of Islamist preachers like Mullah Omar and specialized material of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind was also found in his possession.

"Faizan had been meticulously planning a lone wolf attack, monitoring and tracking the movements of security force personnel and their families. His objective was to emulate terrorists like Yasin Bhatkal of Indian Mujahideen and SIMI chief Abul Fazal, aspiring to gain recognition. To execute his plan, Faizan was also in the process of acquiring more pistols and cartridges through connections with local illegal arms dealers and individuals from outside the state," - ATS to media.

The Inspector General of the Madhya Pradesh (MP) Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) gave the credit of such busting to the current BJP run government's sustained efforts to root out terrorism that had spread its roots in previous  Congress led regimes where MP had become hotbed of Islamic terrorists specially SIMI.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, the state has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and anti-national activities. The arrest is part of an ongoing effort to maintain heightened surveillance across Madhya Pradesh."

The ATS has registered a case under sections 13(1)(B), 18, 20, 38 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) 1967. His arrest has been communicated to the Intelligence Bureau which will run specialized interrogation on him to uncover the larger network.
