Mohammed Iman Zareb was a Palestinian terrorist affiliated to Palestinian Islamic Jihad from the Rafah zone of the Gaza envelope.
His was initially affiliated to Hamas but somewhere in 2022 he was lured to Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) with a commander rank that he was craving for inside Hamas but failed to acquire due to reported nepotism and higher competition, as per sources.
He had the skillset though, and during the 7 October 2023 massacre which Muslims world over call Operation Al-Aqsa Deluge, a named given by Hamas-PIJ with reverence; Zareb had led the attack on Kibbutz Sufa, 2.5KM into Israel from Rafah eastern borderline.
The terrorists were disrupted by Kibbutz security and after arrival of reinforcements, Zareb had fled into Rafah.
On 6 May 2024, Zareb was chalking out ambush plans against the expected Israeli invasion into Rafah. The Shin Bet accurately tracked him into a hideout.
An IAF jet was soaring above the sky of Rafah waiting for the launch signal from the command center. As Shin Bet signaled a positive identification towards the IAF command, an A2S missile directly hit the hideout turning it into rubble.
The instant combustion of an inhumane terrorist was followed by a confirmation by IDF and Shabak through a joint conference and a Jihadi silence from PIJ in a bid to avoid a morale fallout of its fighters.
